Begin your journey at 8:00 AM as you leave Phnom Penh for a scenic drive to Odongk Mountain, the former royal capital of Cambodia. Upon arrival, climb the sacred hill and enjoy breathtaking views of the countryside. Explore the ancient stupas, pagodas, and statues that reflect the country’s spiritual history and architectural beauty.
Continue your visit to the nearby Vipassana Meditation Center, a peaceful retreat where visitors can learn about meditation practices and mindfulness in a calm and natural setting. Take time to walk around the grounds and observe the quiet daily life of the monks.
Enjoy a local lunch near Odongk, tasting authentic Khmer dishes before heading toward Silk Island (Koh Dach). The drive takes you through the rural landscape, followed by a short ferry ride to the island. Upon arrival, discover the traditional art of silk weaving; from nurturing silk worms to weaving colorful scarves by hand. Stroll or cycle through the peaceful village roads surrounded by palm trees and friendly locals.
Your memorable day ends around 5:00 PM, returning to Phnom Penh with a deeper appreciation for Cambodia’s culture, spirituality, and rural lifestyle.

Itinerary

Morning

8:00 AM- Depart from Phnom Penh. Travel to Odongk Mountain (around 1 hour drive). Enjoy the countryside scenery along the way.
9:00 AM- Visit Odongk Mountain. Climb the stairway to the top and admire panoramic views. Explore ancient stupas, temples, and pagodas. Learn about Odongk’s history as the former royal capital of Cambodia.
11:00 AM- Transfer to Vipassana Meditation Center. Short drive near Oudong Mountain.
11:15 AM- Visit Vipassana Meditation Center. Observe the peaceful environment. Learn about the center’s meditation practices and philosophy. Enjoy a quiet walk around the grounds.

Afternoon

12:00 PM- Lunch Break. Have lunch at a local restaurant near Odongk Mountain or on the way to Silk Island.
1:00 PM- Drive to Silk Island (Koh Dach). Travel back toward Phnom Penh (approx. 1.5–2 hours depending on traffic). Take the local ferry to Silk Island.
2:30 PM- Explore Silk Island. Visit a silk weaving village to see the process from silk worm to finished product. Interact with local artisans and shop for handmade silk scarves. Walk or cycle around the island to enjoy the rural scenery.
4:30 PM- Return to Phnom Penh. Take the ferry back and drive to your accommodation. End of the tour.

  • No refund for cancellations within 3 days of tour

  • Please dress modestly for temple visits
  • Comfortable walking shoes recommended
  • Respect Monks- Do not touch monks or sit higher than them; women should avoid direct contact.
  • Quiet Spaces- Keep a low voice in meditation centers and religious sites.
